If I ask ten people, “Do you want to be in the list of favourites of God?” (or the universe or whatever you like to call), I am sure at least nine people will say, “Yes”. But do you know what He does with His favourite children? Lol! Let’s explore and then I will ask the same question again. That will be fair I think.
Ever seen a little child playing with insect and trying to direct the insect to a particular direction? The child stops the way of the insect if insects move in another direction. Sometimes the child pokes the insect with the stick to redirect insect to the desired direction. Yes! This is exactly God do with all of His children.
Sometimes we think that we are going to achieve the greatest thing in life but we do not get it at the last moment. And we think how bad God is! He doesn’t take care of our efforts. But in reality, He is just trying to help you to move towards the direction you deserve and not the one you think you deserve. He takes all our blames happily for He knows, we are innocent kids, just like humans forgive their kids.
It’s always between you and God, and not between you and the world.

But a time comes, when we do not listen and then He does not hesitate to punish us, beat us and break us – All for our own good! There was a time in my life when I was frustrated with my job as I was working for 12 hrs night shift daily with 4 hrs travelling without a night off or week off (How have I managed that!) Of course, that point of time I could not think of the good in that. But now I understand, that time was just an outer reflection of my own insecurities and in-confidence in myself. And I was being beaten and crushed to the core till the time I have not won over my inner demons.
My life has been going on in cycles of the same events over the years. Only human face and situation keeps on changing wherever I go, but basic events remain the same – Nothing changed till the time I have not learnt my lessons and evolved into a better human being. This means that God has been continuously poking and redirecting me again and again by giving the same situations but I took a little longer to understand and learn from it. It’s like I have failed and studied in the same class again and again till the time I have learnt all the lessons and passed the exam.
And this happens with most of us in our lives where we keep on facing one or the other problems and keep on blaming others or God for all the wrong things happening in life. But what is the solution to it?
1. Take ownership: Stop blaming others or God for your own wrongdoings in life. If you are not succeeding in anything or feeling trapped in life. Look within, there is something you are lacking which you are yet to learn. So, no more looking up and saying, “Why Me?”
2. Change perspective: Don’t see problems as a problem but an opportunity or lessons given to you for study, pass and graduate. Try to find out basic reason why certain event has happened in your life? Think of the reason what has triggered you to take certain decision which came out with wrong consequences. Is it your insecurity, in confidence, laziness, selfishness or anything else? Whatever the reason is, it’s within you and not outside, change it.
3. Learn to find solutions: Next time a ball of the problem is thrown towards you, be prepared to hit it with sixer or masterstroke instead of thinking why the ball has been thrown towards you. This Problem ball will keep on coming one after other, it’s wise to master the skill to hit it and turn it into a sixer then allowing it to hit yourself. It’s up to you again, nothing about the world who throws it at you.
4. Don’t become a problem: Do not give a reason to God to use His stick and poke or beat you, for you won’t like it definitely. If problems are coming in your life, for sure you have kept entry gate open for problems to enter in your life. Find the loophole and close it. Whenever I feel like I am doing too much and I loosen up a bit, life starts to scatter again immediately and starts getting out of my control. ‘What you sow is what you reap’ works every single Moment. So, keep your focus on improving and keep working towards becoming a better version of you.
5. Keep Moving: Still water gives the right environment for insects to flourish. Choose what you want your life to be like. Fresh flowing spring water or still water with lots of insects in it. Create the environment accordingly. Keep learning and growing. Any direction is better than no direction. Move ahead, even if you do not know ‘where’, eventually you will find your way. I never knew what I want to do in life. When I look back today, I understand that every problem of my life had taught me great lessons and helped me to move towards my purpose. Same as in your life too.
6. It’s between You and God: Always remember that it’s always between you and Him. The person behaving badly with you or creating problems in your life is just playing his/her role to help you improve. It is never about that person, it’s only about your life and improving yourself. Win over your inner demons who pulls you down and let you feel like a victim, which you are not!
Life will gradually reach a stage where you can just accept everything the way it is and allow Him to work through you without your own desires and interest in becoming a hindrance.
The less obstacle you create in the smooth running of the Universe, the more smooth your life will be. More obstacles you create, the more difficulties you will face in life.
